Where are we?

DAMAI BUNGALOWS is quality accommodation 30km south of Krui in the West Lampung province of Southern Sumatra. We are 5 to 6 hours away from the closest airport in Bandar Lampung. We overlook the longest most consistent left hander in the region, UJUNG BOCUR, on the point of Tanjung Setia. From the pavilion you can watch the waves & sunset, with distant views of mountains with coconut tree lined Mandiri Beach in the foreground.

When to come?

The main surf season runs from May till October. This fits in with the trade winds which blow offshore this time of year. We do occasionally get shifts in wind directions but luckily, we have waves around that face the opposite direction so somewhere offshore can nearly always be found. Check surf forecast.

The ” off ” season, November till April, can still provide periods of offshore conditions & no crowds. For those not fazed by sometime heavy rains & a need to search out waves, the crowd factor will be way down. You can be rewarded with uncrowded waves as off season magic is here for the patient. Off season also attracts discounted rates.

Who are we?

DAMAI BUNGALOWS is 100% Indonesian owned by Kadek Ayu Sriwati.

We are fully licenced & employ only local staff to help us.

Ayu is at the helm here co-ordinating staff, organizing your meals, answering questions from guests & giving advice.

Along with her staff, Ayu handles all the behind the scenes hard stuff, so you can sit back & enjoy a relaxing holiday.

How to get here?

DAMAI BUNGALOWS is best accessed from Jakarta or Bali. Domestic flights (Jakarta to Bandar Lampung, flight codes CGK TGK) can be booked from your local travel agent.

For those wanting to avoid a stopover, speak to your travel agent before you leave home. Depending on where you are flying from, connecting flights are now possible from either Bali or Jakarta to connect with your Bandar Lampung flight.

For those already in Jakarta, the Jalan Wahid Hasyim area is often used as a leaping point to Sumatra and surrounding areas. Flights to Bandar Lampung can be organized with travel agents there. There are also bus & ferry or car options depending on your patience, budget & time constraints.

Susi Air has a flight both ways every Friday however taking surfboards on board is still the issue

NEW for AUG 2023, The Lion Air group has announced they have increased the board extra charge now to Rp500,000 PER BOARD, not per board bag, with a maximum of 5 boards per flight, please do your own reseach regarding this but at this stage Garuda and Air Asia look to be the better option
